Sweet-toothed artists sculpt flowers from sugar

Sugar flowers September 23, 1997

NEW YORK (CNN) -- When it comes to creating flowers from sugar, we know two guys whose work takes the cake. Scott Clark Wooley and his partner, Michael Farace, make sugar flowers that look so real people think they're alive.

Their work mostly adorns wedding cakes and can cost thousands of dollars. They also teach classes and just wrote a book on sugar art. With cakes as gorgeous as theirs, Marie Antoinette might have been tempted to say, "Let them eat cake ... but save the flowers!"

CNN's Jeanne Moos takes us on a guided tour as she eats her way through a different kind of gardening class.
