NEW YORK (CNN) -- Cambodia's ousted Co-Prime Minister Prince
Norodom Ranariddh said that the political and military
conflict in Cambodia could only be solved through "talks and
negotiations."
He made the statement the same day as the Cambodian
parliament in Phnom Penh rejected the proposed sacking of
four cabinet ministers loyal to Ranariddh, who was ousted by
Co-Prime Minister and new leader Hun Sen.
Speaking in an interview with CNN, Ranariddh said the
parliamentary move was a clear sign that Hun Sen faced a
"real crisis" and that the national assembly disagreed with
him.
Ranariddh, who is in New York for the U.N. General Assembly,
also told CNN's May Lee in Hong Kong that the military
conflict between his and Hun Sen's forces would result in
"more and more destruction" unless a solution is found soon.
