Preliminary funeral schedule

(CNN) -- The preliminary schedule for Princess Diana's funeral on
Saturday:
10:25 a.m. (London time)
(5:25 a.m. EDT) |
Princess Diana's body leaves St. James's
Palace. |
11 a.m.
(6 a.m. EDT) |
The casket enters the west door of
Westminster Abbey.
There will be a "conventional funeral
service" with "additions." This is expected
to last from 45 to 55 minutes.
After the service, there will be a minute of
silence across the nation. |
Noon
(7 a.m. EDT) |
The casket leaves the abbey and the motorcade
departs for the Spencer family estate.
The motorcade will pass in front of
Buckingham Palace and will proceed up Park
Lane (by Hyde Park) towards the M-1 motorway.

2:30 p.m.
(9:30 a.m. EDT) |
Expected arrival time of the casket at the church
in Althorp, where the Spencer family has its
ancestral home.

Buckingham Palace did not say how long the motorcade
procession would last but pointed out that the royal family
wanted the motorcade to proceed slowly enough so that people
would be able to pay their respects.
