The casket enters the west door of Westminster Abbey. There will be a "conventional funeral service" with "additions." This is expected to last from 45 to 55 minutes. After the service, there will be a minute of silence across the nation.
Noon
(7 a.m. EDT)
The casket leaves the abbey and the motorcade departs for the Spencer family estate. The motorcade will pass in front of Buckingham Palace and will proceed up Park Lane (by Hyde Park) towards the M-1 motorway.
2:30 p.m.
(9:30 a.m. EDT)
Expected arrival time of the casket at the church in Althorp, where the Spencer family has its ancestral home.

Buckingham Palace did not say how long the motorcade procession would last but pointed out that the royal family wanted the motorcade to proceed slowly enough so that people would be able to pay their respects.
