DINANT, Belgium (CNN) -- An unusual regatta took to the La Meuse river on Friday for Dinant's annual bathtub race.
The
rules
were few. The craft must feature a bathtub -- although the bathtub isn't required to be the actual vessel. The bathtub must be in contact with the water, and the craft must be powered by hand.
Bride-to-be Caroline Deacon was among the 35 teams participating. She won the prize for most original vessel, although it was unclear whether this had anything to do with her promise to burn her underwear.
"I'm getting married next week, and my bridesmaid had the great idea of participating in this contest with these bathtubs," she said. "I'm about to burn my underwear in a few minutes, and I think we'll be having a great time."
It wasn't long before the hard-fought contest broke down, degenerating into a water fight.
