Turkish party meeting erupts into fist fight

ANKARA, Turkey (CNN) -- An ultra-nationalist party gathered Monday to elect a new leader, but the party congress degenerated into a brawl.
Supporters of two rival candidates threw chairs and punches, and gunfire was even heard. Party members recessed indefinitely after the fight.

The Nationalist Action Party holds no seats in Parliament, but is still considered a major player in policies affecting Turkey's right-wing parties.
