TAIPEI, Taiwan (CNN) -- Taiwan demonstrators threw eggs and
scuffled with police while trying to storm Japan's de facto
embassy in Taipei Thursday to protest a landing by four
Japanese on a disputed East China Sea island.
A similar demonstration took place on Wednesday outside
Japan's Interchange Association, which represents Tokyo in
the absence of diplomatic ties.
The Japanese-administered islands are called Senkaku by
Japan and Diaoyu by China. They are claimed by Tokyo, Beijing
and Taipei.
Shingo Nishimura, a Japanese lawmaker who landed on the
islands with three other people on Tuesday, should be
prosecuted, China said.
Reuters contributed to this report.
