LONDON (dpa) -- Executive Stuart Pike got the grandest flight
of his life when he decided to wait in New York for a
departure to London whereas the other passengers switched to
an earlier flight.
Monday reports in the London press said the 33-year-old
Englishmen ended up as the only passenger on the British
Airways jumbo, which had been delayed by technical problems.
Pike, who lives in Kingston near London, figured he would
gain a bit more legroom if he waited for the late plane. He
ended up having the choice of 400 seats in the Boeing 747. He
took a first-class seat and had 17 cabin crew to wait on him.
With little to do, they were glad to stop by his seat for a
chat.
"It was wonderful," according to Pike, who said he had flown
to New York to buy a "Buzz Lightyear" toy for his godson.
