King Hussein to visit Israeli shooting victims' families
AMMAN, Jordan (CNN) -- Jordan's King Hussein will visit
Israel on Sunday to offer condolences to the families of
seven Israeli schoolchildren killed by a Jordanian soldier, a
government spokesman said Saturday.
The king spoke by telephone with Israeli Prime Minister
Benjamin Netanyahu and the two agreed to the visit, the
spokesman said.
A Jordanian army driver opened fire Thursday on a group of
Israeli schoolchildren on a class trip to a strip of land
south of the Sea of Galilee. The strip is owned by Jordan,
but leased to Israel under the terms of a 1994 peace treaty.
