BILBAO, Spain (CNN) -- Basque separatists were suspected
Monday in the bombing murder of a policeman. The officer, 33,
died instantly when a bomb attached to the bottom of his car
exploded as he drove out of his garage in the northern
Spanish city of Bilbao.
The car was enveloped in flames just 15 feet from a high
school with 2,000 students, none of whom were hurt.
Politicians blamed the attack on Basque rebels who have
killed 800 people -- four in the past week -- in their
29-year drive for independence.
