KIGALI, Rwanda (CNN) -- Three former teachers have been
sentenced to death in Rwanda for their roles in the 1994
genocide of minority Tutsis.
The three were accused of mass murder, crimes against
humanity, and forming a group that committed atrocities and
broke into homes to look for people to kill.
The three refused to speak during the trial, and have
appealed their convictions. Three other Rwandans have been
sentenced to death for the mass killings in 1994 that
followed the plane crash death of Hutu President Juvenal
Habyarimana.
