SEOUL, South Korea (CNN) -- South Korean police stormed a bus
in Seoul on Thursday to free 34 passengers held hostage for
more than an hour by a knife-wielding man, witnesses said.
Police fired tear gas before rushing onto the bus to
apprehend
Kwon Shin-hong, who had taken over the bus
in mid-afternoon, according to witnesses. Police were
uncertain of the motive.
The bus driver was injured but no passengers appeared to be
hurt in the raid.
