Bombs injure 13 in Tel Aviv

TEL AVIV, Israel (CNN) -- Two bombs hidden in trash cans exploded within minutes of each other Thursday evening, injuring at least 13 people -- some seriously, security officials said.

"There was a very strong explosion under the Central Cinema, in a snack bar. A few minutes later, there was another blast," a witness told Israeli Army Radio.

Police were speculating that the blasts might be the work of a criminal syndicate in the neighborhood, but had not ruled out the possibility of terrorism.
