SEA OF JAPAN (CNN) -- Bad weather hampered Japan's efforts
Sunday to clean up the oil spilled from a Russian tanker that
broke in two on Thursday.
An estimated 26,000 barrels of oil have poured out of the
tanker, one of the largest spills to ever threaten Japanese
waters.
The Japanese Coast Guard used chemicals to dissolve the fuel
oil and dispatched a ship that could scoop up the
sludge to the area, which is a principal producer of seafood
for Japan.
