ALGIERS, Algeria (CNN) -- Fundamentalists Muslims are blamed
for a pre-dawn attack that killed more than two dozen people
in a small village southwest of Algiers.
The raid was the fifth mass killing this month. A car bomb
exploded in Algiers a few hours later, the third such
explosion this week. At least 20 people were injured.
More than 80 people have died in violence this month, many
with
their throats slit. More than 150 have been wounded in the
last week alone.
The Islamic militants have waged a five-year insurgency
against Algeria's government.
