VANCOUVER, British Columbia (CNN) -- Three German skiers --
two men and a woman -- were killed Monday in a wilderness
avalanche on the Phalanx Glacier in British Columbia.
The three were part of a group of 11 Europeans skiing with a
local guide just outside the boundaries of the Blackcomb
Mountain ski area in the Coast Mountain Range. The other
members of the group were located, the Royal Canadian Mounted
Police said.
The group was dropped by helicopter on the glacier, in an
area not serviced by ski lifts.
