BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- Iraqi President Saddam Hussein's eldest son Uday was interviewed by a reporter from the official Iraqi News Agency Tuesday. In the interview, he appeared to blame neighboring Iran for the attack on him five days ago.
Iraqi opposition groups abroad have claimed they were behind the attack.
Uday's interview on Shebab television, his private channel, was the first time the public has seen Uday since unidentified gunmen attacked him in the Iraqi capital Thursday. Several people, beside Uday, were reported to have been seriously wounded in the attack.
Reuters contributed to this report.
