SRINAGAR, India (CNN) -- Seven people were killed and
40 others injured when a bomb or grenade exploded
Wednesday at a Communist rally in India's troubled Kashmir
Valley.
Some reports say the bomb went off as Communist leader
Mohammad Yusuf Tarigami addressed the crowd, others say it
occurred just as he was arriving.
He survived the attack, which took place in Kulgam town, 40
miles (65 km) south of Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu
and Kashmir state. No one has claimed responsibility for the
blast.
