PARIS (CNN) -- Zaire recalled its ambassador to France Sunday
after he was involved in a car accident that killed two
French youths in the Riviera resort Menton.
French citizens had called for a revocation of Ramazani
Baya's diplomatic immunity so he could be brought to trial.
Police said Baya, driving a rental car, was speeding when he
struck 13-year-old Raphael Lenoir and 12-year-old Ronald
Lehartel in a pedestrian crossing on Wednesday. Lenoir died
instantly; Lehartel died Saturday from his injuries.
A breathalyzer test did not reveal excessive alcohol intake.
