Irish kitchen designer charged in bombing at British barracks

BELFAST, Northern Ireland (CNN) -- Prosecutors charged a
32-year-old Belfast kitchen designer with conspiracy Saturday
in connection with the IRA bombing of the British army's
Northern Ireland headquarters.
Michael Rogan was charged with conspiring to set off
explosions between June 3 and October 8. The Irish Republican
Army -- which seeks to end British rule of Northern Ireland
-- exploded two bombs at Thiepval Barracks in Lisburn on
October 7, one of which killed a British soldier. The
bombings near Belfast injured about 30 people.
