LIMA, Peru (CNN) -- Divers have recovered one of two flight
data recorders from the Aero Peru jet that crashed into the
Pacific Ocean on October 2. They also spotted the bodies of
seven of the 70 people killed when the plane went down
shortly after takeoff. So far, 14 bodies have been
recovered.
Recovery teams operating an underwater robot found the
so-called black box on Saturday. Investigators hope the
recorder will help them determine what went wrong with the
plane. The pilot reported that his instruments were
malfunctioning moments before the crash.
