Classical concert in Sarajevo

SARAJEVO, Bosnia-Herzegovina (CNN) -- Strains of classical music, not racial discord, floated into the night air as one of the world's most renowned violinists directed a "Concert for Peace."

Sir Yehudi Menuhin conducted the Sarajevo Philharmonic on Saturday. The program honored Bosnian musicians and was broadcast live on television.

In addition to works by Beethoven and Mozart, the orchestra played versions of Bosnian folk songs. Menuhin also inaugurated a foundation for young Bosnian musicians.
