U.S. to aid Chinese flood victims

SHANGHAI, China (CNN) -- The U.S. is preparing to airlift
relief supplies into Shanghai to help victims of
floods in the nearby province of Anhui. (699K QuickTime movie)
A U.S. consulate spokesman said that James Sasser, the U.S.
ambassador to China, will present 16 tons of plastic
sheeting, blankets and water containers to Chinese
authorities on Thursday.
More 860 people have been killed in the floods this year, and
millions have been left homeless or stranded.
