SAKAI, Japan (CNN) -- The Japanese government has issued a
warning not to eat raw meat because of a food poisoning
outbreak.
The Japanese Health Ministry says that four people have died
and more than 8,000 have been stricken in the start of summer
-- 6,000 in the town of Sakai alone.
The victims in Sakai are mostly primary school children, who
ate contaminated school lunches. But other cases have been
linked to a bacterium in raw liver. Officials are also
concerned about eel, sushi, pork and chicken.
