LONDON (CNN)-- Several men were arrested in London early Monday under the Prevention of Terrorism Act, British police said.
Officials said they recovered a "large amount of bomb-making equipment" in the sweep of South London houses but they would not give details nor would they give the exact number or nationalities of those arrested.
The Irish Republican Army has carried out a number of bomb attacks on the British mainland since ending its most recent cease fire, but British Police have not yet linked Monday's arrests to the IRA or the bombing campaign.
