LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) -- Meet Joey Green, quite the wizard of household tips. He recommends peanut butter -- smooth, not crunchy -- as a shaving cream, Spam as a furniture-polisher, Coca-Cola as a toilet bowl cleaner and Listerine as a shampoo. And it all works, he insists.
Now he's written "Polish your furniture with panty hose," a compilation of bizarre household hints.
He actually uses few of his hints, confessing he is worried that his dog might like the idea of Spam on his tables much too much.
A representative from Spam seemed a little taken aback by the idea that their product is used to shine wood, but she did note that from time to time, people do come up with innovative ideas for Spam -- needless to say, not all recipes.
For the adventurous, here are some of Greene's how-to's:
"You just take the Spam. Rub it into the furniture. You'll see there's a fine luster and you just buff."
"I just recommend using the smooth as opposed to the extra crunchy (peanut butter). It will clog up the razor and all you do is take your razor and just shave as you normally would and it gives a nice close shave."
"Ya just grab the Efferdent and pop a tablet into a glass of water and then take your diamond bracelet and drop it in."
"(Listerine) prevents dandruff. You can shampoo your hair with Listerine."
"You just pour the Coca-Cola into your toilet bowl and let it sit for an hour, brush and flush."
