CNN-USA Gallup Poll results Interviews with 1,017 adult Americans conducted August 28-30, 1995
The number of Americans who think that Mark Fuhrman is a racist has increased dramatically since March, but most Americans continue to believe that Fuhrman did not plant the bloody glove at O.J. Simpson's estate.
Just 30% say that Fuhrman took a glove from the scene of the murder and placed it at Simpson's home to make him look guilty. 55% believe Fuhrman actually found the glove at Simpson's home as he testified.
In March, 59% believed Fuhrman's testimony; 23% believed at that time that the bloody glove was planted.
The Fuhrman tapes have also had little effect on the public's attitudes toward the charges against Simpson. In July 69% thought the charges against Simpson were definitely or probably true; today 67% think the charges are true.
