Miami police seize $4 million worth of 'Special K' drugSeptember 10, 1999 MIAMI (CNN) -- A routine stop by police in Miami on Friday led to what may be the single largest seizure of the illegal drug Ketamine in U.S. history. More than 2,000 vials of the drug, also known as "Special K," were discovered by Miami-Dade County Police after they stopped a pickup truck with several cardboard boxes in the open bed. The driver, Geraldo Baptista, then led police to a storage facility where 9,000 more vials were found. The total street value of the Ketamine, billed as a so-called "date rape" drug, is $4 million, police said. Police say that Baptista told him he did not know what the boxes in his truck contained. He was taken into custody. RELATED STORIES: Authorities nab suspects in new drug sting at Miami International Airport RELATED SITES: Miami-Dade Police Department
