NEW YORK (CNN) -- New York City is cracking down on motorists who drive into an intersection but can't reach the other side because of heavy traffic -- or just plain bad manners.
The annoying practice locals call "blocking the box" can bring traffic to a halt and has been frowned on for years. But now, anyone trying to sneak ahead may also get slapped with a hefty fine.
