BLOOMINGTON, Indiana (CNN) -- The following is a time line of the shooting spree that left three dead and several others wounded over the July Fourth weekend in Illinois and Indiana.

The fatalities include the suspect, 21-year-old Benjamin Nathaniel Smith, a reported white supremacist who shot himself while fleeing police during a high-speed chase.

Friday, July 2

Six Orthodox Jews were wounded while walking home from Sabbath services in the Rogers Park section of Chicago.

Former Northwestern University basketball coach Ricky Byrdsong, who is black, was fatally shot while walking with two of his children in front of their house in suburban Skokie, Illinois.

An Asian-American couple was shot at in a vehicle while attempting to pass a light blue Taurus in Northbrook, another Chicago suburb. Neither was hit.

Saturday, July 3

Two drive-by shootings in Springfield targeted African Americans; one victim was wounded with non-life-threatening injuries; no one was hit in the other incident.

A black minister was shot twice in Decatur, Illinois. He was treated for his wounds at a hospital and released.

An Asian student from the University of Illinois was shot in the leg as he walked with friends in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois. The 22-year-old man, whose name was not released, was hospitalized in serious condition.

Sunday, July 4

Won-Joon Yoon was shot twice in the back and killed outside a Korean church in the morning in Bloomington, Indiana. The 26-year-old Korean was a student at Indiana University.

Smith, the suspect, shot himself at night on Interstate 57 near Salem, Illinois, in a van he allegedly carjacked. He died later at a hospital.
