(CNN) -- In Mississippi, which has the highest rate of children living in homes without fathers, a pilot program is teaching men in prison how to be better fathers once they are released.

On average, children living without their biological fathers are more likely to be poor, suffer from physical abuse and engage in criminal behavior than children who live with their married parents.

CNN's Brian Cabell reports on the fatherhood initiative and its goal of keeping children from following in their troubled father's footsteps.
