LORTON, Virginia (CNN) -- They may all be serving nine life terms, but 500 feline felons will likely get parole. Authorities plan to close an aging penitentiary in Virginia and relocate the inmates, but prison pets will not be allowed to transfer.
The convicts hope to find good homes outside the joint for their cats, but even some of the toughest among them are reduced to tears when they think of life without their favorite fur balls.
Watch the video and see how the four-legged inmates are coping with the prospect of life "on the outside."
