NEW YORK (CNN) -- Duct tape may have been named after heating and air conditioning airways, but the sticky, silvery tape has expanded its horizons.

It can be used to tow a car, pull out a splinter or block smoke from coming in under a door.

Those are just a few of the uses "Ductigami" author Joe Wilson has dreamed up.
