NEW YORK (CNN) -- For a new generation of Jews, the Holocaust is history, not part of their personal experience. And Israel is no longer a fledging country, it's a world power.

As Correspondent Maria Hinojosa reports, the shift in thinking has led some American Jews to look closer to home as they define who they are and where they should direct their charitable contributions.
