Bids being taken in person, by phone and on the Web
LOS ANGELES (CNN) -- O.J.
Simpson's Heisman Trophy and other sports memorabilia seized
from him to satisfy the verdict in a wrongful-death lawsuit
were being auctioned off Tuesday night, in part, on the Internet.
Butterfield & Butterfield, a West Coast-based auction house,
says it expects many online bids through its Web site.
More traditional bidders will make their offers at the Los Angeles event in person or by
telephone.
Dozens of items are for sale. Some are sports-related, such
as the Heisman, the trophy awarded to Simpson as the best
college football player of 1968. Others are personal
property.
