Gun makers fire back at lawsuits

February 4, 1999
Web posted at: 11:32 p.m. EST (0432 GMT)

ATLANTA, Georgia (CNN) - Even as its mayor announced the city would join four others suing the gun industry, Atlanta hosted one of the nation's biggest gun shows.

One common theme at the show: Gun makers, unlike the tobacco industry, have no plans to settle the suits.

Correspondent Martin Savidge visits the 1999 SHOT show.
