HOUSTON (CNN) -- A woman gave birth to eight premature babies at a Houston hospital Sunday. All were born alive, according to a spokeswoman at St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital.

The last of the children was born about 7 a.m. CST (8 a.m. EST). The hospital spokeswoman said she did not know the gender mix of the babies, who were moved to Texas Children's Hospital, adjacent to St. Luke's.

Hospital officials planned to release more information about the births at a press conference late Sunday afternoon.
