VERMONT (CNN) -- Aging barns, once a common sight in rural Vermont, have greatly declined in numbers as they deteriorate and eventually get torn down by their owners.

An enterprising builder started a business, The Barn People, which takes the weathered timber from the old barns and recycles it into picturesque homes for a tidy profit.
