Time almost up for these turkeys

turkey November 18, 1998
Web posted at: 1:09 p.m. EST (1809 GMT)

NEAR BALLANTINE, Montana (CNN) -- Norma, the self-described "turkey lady," puts a finger to her lips.

"Shhh," she tells a visitor to her poultry farm in southern Montana. "We don't want them to know what day it is."

But it's too late. As Thanksgiving Day nears, the squawking birds seem to sense that their time is almost up.

Joe Gehl of CNN affiliate KTVQ visits the place that's putting a meal on many holiday plates.
