John Ramsey to testify in libel suit
Web posted at: 11:01 p.m. EDT (0301 GMT) DENVER (CNN) -- John Ramsey, father of slain 6-year-old beauty queen JonBenet, is scheduled to give a deposition Tuesday in a libel suit brought by a Boulder photographer. The lawsuit springs from two articles published by the National Enquirer last fall, in which unidentified sources called photographer Stephen Miles a pedophile and a sex offender. The articles also claimed that Ramsey thought Miles killed his daughter, whose body was found on the day after Christmas in 1996, in the basement of her family's Boulder home. Miles brought suit against the National Enquirer, two of its reporters and John Ramsey. Ramsey has denied making the accusation against Miles. His deposition on Tuesday will be videotaped, but no information will be released until clearance is given by Judge C. Brimmer of the U.S. District Court in Denver. A separate grand jury is still investigating JonBenet's death. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
