LOS ANGELES (CNN) -- Welfare reform has forced many states and cities to come up with new ways to get people back on the payroll. In the Los Angeles area, a program called GAIN gives these new workers practical job skills while boosting their self-esteem.
A recent report shows the program seems to be working.
