WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The National Transportation Safety Board has earned an international reputation for its skills in investigating airline crashes.

Within hours of the crash of Swissair Flight 111 off the coast of Halifax, Nova Scotia, the NTSB dispatched its so-called "Go Team" to Canada to assist in the crash investigation.

Canadian officials are hoping the NTSB's quick-response team can help them resolve the mystery behind their coastal tragedy.

Correspondent Jonathan Aiken has more.
