WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Four people were arrested Monday after unfurling a "Free Tibet" banner on an apartment building across from the Chinese Embassy during a protest of President Clinton's trip to China later this week.
Three men and a woman were taken away in a police wagon after hanging a sign that read "Clinton and Jiang: Free Tibet before Free Trade." Clinton will meet with Chinese President Jiang Zemin during the trip.
About 25 protesters, including a Tibetan nun, took part the demonstration. It was not sponsored by any specific organization, but groups such as Amnesty International and Students for a Free Tibet participated.
