CHARLOTTE, North Carolina (CNN) -- A spokesman for the
Charlotte Fire Department confirmed to CNN Sunday that
flammable liquids were used to ignite two church fires
Saturday night.
Both Moore's Chapel United Methodist Church and New Apostolic
Church in northwest Charlotte suffered moderate exterior
damage from fire and smoke, according to fire department
spokesman Capt. Rob Brisley.
No injuries were reported.
On Thursday evening, the Garden Memorial Presbyterian Church
suffered roughly the same damage when the door was ignited
with a flammable liquid.
Brisley told CNN that all three fires were very similar in
origin and were likely connected. He said all three remained
under investigation.
