BOULDER, Colorado (CNN) -- A Colorado newspaper is reporting that authorities in the murder investigation of JonBenet Ramsey reportedly have lost evidence, forcing them to retrace their steps.
Detectives have told friends of the Ramseys they no longer have some interviews and palm prints that the friends had given earlier, the Rocky Mountain News reported Sunday.
Four sources, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, told the newspaper that they were asked to resubmit to evidence testing and interviews. Police did not return calls for comment.

A former neighbor and friend of the Ramseys told CNN that he was recently re-interviewed by Boulder police concerning their investigation into the death of 6-year-old JonBenet.
But police did not tell him that they had lost their notes from their first interview, he said.
