A song on their lips -- and garbage in their hands

TACOMA, Washington (CNN) -- Five garbage collectors in Tacoma are "talking trash" -- or, more accurately, "singing trash."

To introduce changes in the city's trash system, the five men were plucked off their usual rounds to form a musical group called The Collectors. Through radio spots and advertisements, the group is bringing Tacomans the message that they need to upgrade their garbage cans.

After that campaign is over, another campaign featuring The Collectors will encourage people to recycle.
