KISSIMMEE, Florida (CNN) -- Workers at JungleLand put out chunks of meat Tuesday, hoping to lure an escaped lion back to her cage at the roadside zoo in central Florida.
Cynthia Potter, a spokeswoman for JungleLand, said the principal concern is for the health of the full-grown lion, a 450-pound female named Nala.
"We don't feel that any populated area is threatened right now," Potter told CNN. "Of course people do have to exercise their common sense to keep their children and their animals in the immediate area in their homes. If they do see anything they need to notify authorities immediately."
JungleLand is located on Highway 192 in the heart of a busy tourist district of hotels and restaurants near Disney World.
The big cat got loose on Monday as workers were building a platform to elevate her from drenching rain that had flooded the cage.
The 2-year-old lion, raised in captivity, has been declawed but still has her fangs.
