TRAVERSE CITY, Michigan (CNN) -- A judge Monday ordered that
documents involving a search of the summer home of John and
Patsy Ramsey be made public, but ruled that some of the
information could be blacked out.
After consulting a police detective from Boulder, Colorado,
JonBenet Ramsey, 6, was killed, District Judge Richard W. May
ruled that "certain portions" of the documents be "edited" to
guard the privacy of unnamed third parties, and to protect
information important to the investigation.
The search of the Charlevoix house was conducted March 6.
JonBenet Ramsey was found dead in the basement of the family
home in Boulder by her father, a computer executive, last
December 26. Police have named no suspects in the case,
although the district attorney has said the victim's parents
are an "obvious focus" of the investigation.
Charlevoix County Prosecutor Mary Beth Kur -- who opposed
releasing the documents -- could delay the release of the
documents by appealing the ruling. Michigan law gives her 21
days to do so.
The documents were sought by The Denver Post and Denver
television station KMGH.
