Woman begins dogsled trek across North America

SEARSPORT, Maine (CNN) - A woman who recovered from Hodgkin's lymphoma began a 6,000-mile cross-continental journey Saturday hoping to inspire people fighting cancer.

Although the Hereford, England, resident has received extensive help -- including donated dogs and equipment -- from sled dog racers in Alaska and Maine, she has had trouble lining up support from big-name sponsors.
