CHICAGO (CNN) -- Gas prices in the United States dropped less
than a penny per gallon as a downward trend slowed and
instability in the Middle East threatened to stop the
decline.
The average price for all grades and services of gas was
126.14 cents per gallon on November 7, down seven-tenths of
one penny from two weeks earlier, according to the Lundberg
Survey of 10,000 stations nationwide.
Regular unleaded self-serve gas, which most Americans buy,
averaged 130.84 cents per gallon, also down seven-tenths of a
penny.
Prices have dropped during the past two months because of
strong supplies and lower demand, said survey editor Trilby
Lundberg. "Prices have been falling for two months but the
cuts have slowed. Whether they will stop will depend on how
nervous crude oil buyers get about Middle East problems," she
said.
