HUNTSVILLE, Texas (CNN) -- A man condemned for his role in a
1983 attack that left four people dead at a Houston arcade
became the 32nd Texas death row inmate to be executed this
year.
In his last statement, Kenneth Ray Ransom insisted Tuesday he
was innocent and said his death would be "an instrument to
abolishing the death penalty." He died of lethal injection.
Ransom, 34, was condemned for fatally stabbing one of the
four employees at the Malibu Grand Prix, a video arcade and
go-cart track in southwest Houston.
An accomplice, Richard Wilkerson, 29, was executed four years
ago and a third participant, James Randle, who was 16 at the
time of the July 1, 1983, killings, is serving a life
sentence.
